The Bodø/Glimt supporters and the Chicago Fire supporters have seen most of the different types of goals by Philip Zinckernagel, but this weekend something new came. At least the Dane can’t remember anything similar.

Philip Zinckernagel scored on an indirect free kick as the Chicago Fire defeated Atlanta United 3-2 in MLS at the weekend. Eight Atlanta players lined up on the goal line in an attempt to keep the ball out, but that didn’t stop the Dane, who hammered the ball into the goal.

After the game, the Dane did not hide the fact that it was a somewhat special experience to score in that way.

“I actually don’t think I’ve scored on an indirect free kick before. It doesn’t happen very often. But yes, it was great to see the ball go in,” says the former Bodø/Glimt star according to On Tap Sports Net.
