Jürgen Klopp’s agent and the Red Bull boss have both railed against rumours that Jürgen is unhappy as Global Head of Soccer, and that this spring has been close to a return to club football and a signing with Real Madrid. That turned out not to be true either. Not that the Real Madrid bosses didn’t want champion Klopp, but that it ultimately ended up with Jose Mourinho. This time, the agent and RB boss will have a harder time stopping the “rumor”.
Because Jürgen Klopp answered it himself, when he sat and commented on Germany’s exit from the World Cup after losing to Paraguay. Julian Nagelsmann has been in charge of the German national team since 2023, and has a contract until Euro 2028. A quarter-final defeat to Spain in the European Championship on home soil was disappointing, but not enough to make Nagelsmann weigh too lightly. When Germany in the World Cup two years later goes directly from a loss in the last group game against Ecuador to a loss to Paraguay in the round of 16, then Nagelsmann is done.

Klopp, who works as a pundit on German TV during the World Cup, was asked right after the game what it takes before he will consider the job of national coach. There was a long answer, but we got hung up on the last part: “… I understand that when people talk about the national team coach, my name is mentioned, but it’s not the right time to talk about it – especially not myself,” Klopp replied according to Bild.
According to The Times and The Telegraph , Jürgen Klopp has sent signals he is open to returning as coach, to lead Die Mannschaft towards success at Euro 2028.

Klopp’s agent and RB boss will have a hard time calling these “rumours”. When Nagelsmann is sacked, it is only natural for Klopp and Germany that the time, it is now.
