For the past six months, former “untochable” at AC Milan, Rafael Leao, has been linked to exit San Siro. The Portuguese has worn the Milan shirt since 2019 as one of the biggest star wingers in Europe with 80 goals and 65 assists in 291 games, now the 26-year-old himself confirms he is on his way away from the San Siro.

Leao has not scored since March 1, and has made headlines because of something completely different than contributions to AC Milan’s fight for the Serie A title this season. Negative body language and disagreements with both teammates and coaches, especially after a game against Lazio, Leao didn’t like being replaced by coach Massimilliano Allegri. AC Milan eventually slipped their last Champions League ticket and Allegri was sacked. Now Leao also says he is looking to leave, two years before the end of his contract.

Rafael Leao confirms he is leaving AC Milan

“I’m proud to have made history at AC Milan, but I want a new chapter. I feel ready to play in a different league. I’ve done my best for Milan, but it’s time to try a new challenge,” Rafael Leao told Portuguese sports TV.

Other leagues could be the Bundesliga, La Liga or Premier League, where clubs such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United have been linked to the super winger.
