Tottenham in talks about three attackers – and are now also chasing a right-back

“Roberto De Zerbi wants stars in attack, but the window could bring even more surprises

Tottenham Hotspur are in full swing before the transfer window closes on September 1. The club is negotiating to sign three attackers – but there could also be a new right-back in place as well.

Roberto De Zerbi has already transformed both defence and midfield, but it doesn’t stop there. Now the Italian wants to strengthen the attack – and the hunt for new goals is on.

Gakpo, Savinho and Marmoush on the block

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is one of the names on the list. The Dutchman is said to be keen to move to London and work with De Zerbi.

In addition, David Ornstein confirmed on Wednesday evening that Spurs are moving forward in talks over a double deal for Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush. The plan is to bring in one striker and two wingers – and Marmoush could also raise doubts about Richarlison’s future, as the Brazilian is linked with a return to Everton.

Right-back – next on the list?

But the attack is not the only area De Zerbi is looking at. After Djed Spence completed his move to Inter Milan, Pedro Porro is left with little competition at right-back.

Now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirms that Tottenham are considering signing a new full-back:

“Maybe if an opportunity comes up, Tottenham might be interested – but it’s not guaranteed yet,” Romano said in the latest episode of Market Madness.

Williams or Munoz?

According to Paul O’Keefe, a reputable Tottenham source, Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz is one of the targets. Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams has also been mentioned.

Comparing the two, Muñoz performed at a higher level last season – both offensively and defensively. But he is also six years older than Williams, who delivered an impressive season for Forest and was named the club’s player of the year.

The question is whether Spurs want an immediate backup for Porro – or a younger player with long-term potential.

Three signings – and maybe four

With Gakpo, Savinho and Marmoush in the running, and the right-back under consideration, Tottenham could close the window with as many as four new players. De Zerbi has already brought in seven new names this summer – and he is clearly not done yet.
