The wind has been blowing around Yves Bissouma. The midfielder was brought in from Brighton in 2022 with high expectations. After 111 appearances in a Spurs shirt, many probably remember him best for being suspended by the club after inhaling an illegal substance from a balloon. Not surprisingly, Tottenham let his contract expire this summer, here it will be cleared up.
Bissouma got to be on the pitch in the semi-finals and final of the Europa League last season to the title, but in the Premier League it was primarily a substitute for the defensive midfielder under Ange Postecoglu. This season, it has been limited to 11 games, injuries and bench time for the 29-year-old.

On Wednesday, Tottenham confirmed that Bissouma will not be offered a contract extension. The clean-up continues. Roberto de Zerbi will start the season without “extra weight” in the squad.
