Tottenham Hotspur have been told: Benfica are demanding at least 80 million euros for Norwegian star player Andreas Schjelderup. Spurs have already made contact and signalled a bid of €40 million, but the Portuguese are nowhere near offering a discount.

The club sees the Norwegian as a long-term investment and believes the price of 80 million euros – equivalent to £68 million – is marketable for a player of his age and level.
Schjelderup ready for the Premier League
Several sources state that Schjelderup himself is very open to a transfer to the Premier League. He has already declined to extend his contract with Benfica, which runs until 2028.
This means that Benfica is in an ideal sale window: the player has 18 months left on his contract, and the value is high. The summer of 2026 could be the perfect time to sell.
Liverpool and Chelsea also interested
Liverpool and Chelsea have also shown interest in Schjelderup in recent days, confirms TEAMtalk. But Tottenham’s proactive approach could give them an edge – if they act quickly.
