Roberto de Zerbi has signed Liverpool veteran Andy Roberton and Bournemouth’s Argentine Marcos Senesi, both on a free transfer. Now work is being done for another defensive cliff, an acquaintance of De Zerbi from the Brighton era. A Croatian 19-year-old will help Tottenham get Brighton to sell Jan Paul van Hecke.

According to Football-Insider , Spurs have already seen two bids for the Dutch centre-back rejected. First £40 million, then £50 million, but Spurs are becoming increasingly confident that they will get a deal done. The 26-year-old has just one year left on his contract at the Amex, and this window will represent Brighton’s last chance to sell before they lose him as a free agent. A Tottenham player is now opening up for a “frictionless” deal.
