Loan is clearly not the thing for 23-year-old Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot. “He has fallen through all the stools at Anfield and has experienced setbacks on loan, first at Aston Villa and now at Valencia.
Leeds could secure Harvey Elliott permanently
Leeds United could get the chance to sign Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott on a permanent transfer in January. Sources confirm this to Football Insider.

The Whites have long admired the 23-year-old and were heavily linked with him in the summer. At the time, Elliott ended up at Valencia – but now the Spanish club are already preparing to end his loan spell when the January window opens.
The star has no future at Liverpool, and that he prefers a permanent transfer elsewhere in England to another loan swap.
Weak loan stays raise questions
Elliott has had little success on loan in recent years, which has caused questions surrounding him. Nevertheless, he is still expected to attract interest from several Premier League clubs.
Leeds have continued to keep a close eye on his development, and could be prepared to strike when the winter window opens.
No place in Liverpool
Elliott has a contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2028, but the club has no plans to let the deal expire. Andoni Iraola has already decided that the former Fulham star has no place in his plans – and the club hopes to make money from him.
His loan spells at Aston Villa and Valencia have not worked out at all over the past 18 months. Elliott is now pushing for a permanent transfer to get his career back on track.
He has yet to start a game for Valencia, and was sent off for protesting in his last substitute appearance. Valencia have already decided to send him back to his parent club this winter – which could play into Leeds’ hands.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that Leeds’ interest in Sevilla winger Miguel Sierra will “most likely” be realised next summer.
The 22-year-old Sierra has made a good start to the new La Liga season and has a release clause in his contract set at £16.6 million. However, sources say that Leeds are unlikely to go for him as early as January, as Daniel Farke is already happy with the width of the wide areas.
However, that could change next summer, when the boss will have more time to reshape his squad.
