Carlo Ancelotti addressed the media ahead of ‘s clash against Osasuna this Saturday. The Italian manager is hopeful of regaining momentum following the team’s recent defeat to AC Milan.
The Italian warned his players about the threat posed by the visiting team at Chamartín. “Osasuna is performing very well. They are well positioned in the table, playing good football and in fine form. We see it as a great opportunity to turn things around during this challenging period. It’s normal; we have not been showing our best version. This could be a chance to get back to winning ways” – Ancelotti began.
According to Ancelotti, the team has held discussions to address their challenges and believes they’ve found solutions. The Italian coach also emphasized that the main problem lies not in attack, but in defense.
“We have discussed and tried to assess the situation with the players. We believe we have found the solution to the problem; that’s the theory. Now it’s time for action, trying to bring a different version than in our recent matches. I see the team united, motivated, aware of what’s happening, and confident that what we’ve identified is the right solution. We have to wait for the match” – Ancelotti affirmed, hoping to have convinced his squad for collective effort.
“I feel strong enough to turn this around. It’s a tough moment, and we all experience it together as a very close family. I have great confidence in the players, who are aware of the challenges. These are moments that always occur in football. It’s an opportunity to overcome this situation and come out stronger in the future” – he added.
He elaborated on the debate surrounding the team’s struggles: “We believe we have found the solution; it’s all theoretical. The practical implications will be seen in the match. This is not the right place to discuss these issues as everyone has their opinion, while we must face the reality that we have lost our recent matches and need to approach it differently. We believe we’ve identified the issue; we will see if it holds true.”
“It’s a tough time, but I’m happy to go through it here at this club, the best in the world. We also need to quickly overcome these complex moments; they have always been there and always will be” – add Ancelotti.

Fede Valverde is back and ready for Osasuna: “He’s in great shape, ready to play. He has trained excellently, just like everyone else. I never said he had a back problem; we’ve never said that. He had an issue, but he has recovered. Now he’s very well, and we count on him.”
Reflecting on the week after two painful defeats: “I enjoy every day. This is a challenging time because I see people united to strive for the best, the support from the club and players. Personally, it has been long nights of reflection, trying to find solutions. Sharing thoughts with others—players, club… makes the nights feel a bit shorter. Now comes the pre-match, focusing on the positives and the motivation. We aim to showcase the solution we’ve found.”
He concluded with an optimistic message for the future: “I see this season as one where we currently face a challenge, but it can be successful. We will fight for all titles in every competition. That’s how it will be. In a month, we’ll have a chance to win a World Cup, and we will compete in La Liga and the Champions League.”
