Football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic is working on a bid for an English football club – together with British boxer Tyson Fury.
Ibrahimovic currently works as a senior advisor to AC Milan’s American owners, RedBird Capital. Now, however, he is in the process of taking over an English football club that is particularly close to Tyson Fury’s heart.

The duo bought the non-league club Morecambe FC. The plans are said to have been made after they worked together in Warsaw, Poland, on a World Cup commercial earlier this week.

“They were in Warsaw filming an advertisement for the World Cup
“Tyson spoke to Zlatan about buying his local hometown club Morecambe FC. They want to buy the club and make a Netflix documentary called “Rise of Morecambe” together. Just like Ryan Reynolds did with Wrexham. They both know what it takes to get to the top.

The Wrexham effect: From non-league to Championship
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham for £2 million in 2021, when the team played in the National League. Five years later, they are competing in the Championship – just one level below the Premier League.
The successful documentary “Welcome to Wrexham” has followed the club’s journey and strengthened the club’s global reputation considerably.

Morecambe: A club at the bottom – with big plans
Morecambe currently plays in League Two, the fourth top division in England. The club has never played higher than League One, and in recent years has struggled with finances and stadium standards.
With two of the world’s most colourful sports personalities on the ownership side – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the greatest footballers of all time, and Tyson Fury, undefeated heavyweight boxing champion – Morecambe could be the next impossible success story.
The only question is whether the two giants will be able to recreate the Wrexham magic – or whether it will all be a heavyweight encounter with the realities of the English football pyramid.
