The Premier League’s all-time leading scorer and Newcastle legend, Alan Shearer, knows Eddie Howe very well after his years as Newcastle manager. Shearer follows his old club closely, and now has a warning for Howe.
According to Teamtalk’s sources , Eddie Howe is at the top of the list of sporting director Wilcox to replace Michael Carrick (if, when), but Shearer believes Manchester United will not suit Howe.

“I don’t know if Eddie Howe would go in and turn it around at Manchester United,” Shearer begins, according to Teamtalk.
“They had to compensate Newcastle because of the time left on his contract. Eddie likes control and if he would have got that at Old Trafford, I don’t know.”
Who thinks Howe was a brilliant coach for Newcastle.
“I feel uncomfortable when someone is in a job and talking about another manager potentially coming in, but Howe is Newcastle’s most successful manager in my lifetime and he did an incredible job, pulling us out of the relegation zone to the fantastic Champions League and delivering that trophy.”

“He’s a very talented coach and manager, but we’ve seen a lot of them go into Man Utd and fail. I couldn’t give him any advice. “I know how big the football club is and even though the team is very different to what they were 20 or 30 years ago, I still understand the attraction to Man Utd. It’s a very tough task to go in there because of the way they are run,” Shearer concluded.
