Declared a genius as a Sporting coach, partly ridiculed as a Premier League coach. Ruben Amorim introduced a formation that had given him great success at Sporting, the Manchester United players were neither ready, capable nor motivated to play Amorim football on the ball island. Amorim still has some fans among Manchester United supporters, but these have become fewer after Michael Carrick took over in January and with simple moves made the United game very competitive in the Premier League. Now it is reported that Amorim will go to “school”.
Ruben Amorim led Manchester United in 63 games, where he finished with a win percentage of 36.92. Since the Portuguese lashed out at the management after the Leeds loss and dismissal a few days later, it has been completely silent. For the past week, he has been linked with what will be the vacant Crystal Palace job after Oliver Glasner, but now it is reported that Amorim has sent signals of something completely different than a quick comeback in the Premier League.

With him out the gate at Old Trafford, Amorim received compensation of around £10 million, so there should be no personal financial pressure to return to paid work. According to A Bola, he has planned what he will spend next season doing, where the time will be used for a “sabbatical”, where he will strengthen his skills by exchanging ideas with coaches he considers role models.
According to the Portuguese media, Amorim will reconsider the plan if the right opportunity arises, but does not intend to jump on the first and best offer. A comeback to the Portuguese league should not be an option anyway, it is reported.
