Lyngby buys Isak Þorvaldsson – attacker ready for 2029

Lyngby Boldklub has bought Isak Þorvaldsson from Rosenborg BK and signed the attacker until the summer of 2029.

Isak came to Lyngby in the summer of 2025 on a loan just from Rosenborg. Now the loan agreement is made permanent in royal blue.

For sports director Nicas Kjeldsen, this is a completely natural step.

“Isak is a fantastic attacker who contributes enormously to our game on the pitch – we have really noticed that in the periods we have been without him. With Isak, we get a good player who we believe we can do even better in the Superliga.

“He has enormous potential, even though he may not have the typical age you associate with potential. There is still something unresolved in him, and we know that we can bring it out. Already in the short time he has been with us, we have taken big steps together – and we know that we can lift him even more in the years to come.

Isak has particularly distinguished himself with his physical strength and ability to be a central focal point in the attack.

“He is an extremely physically strong “hold up” player, and at the same time he has high speed in his game. In addition, he is technically good and strong in the air. When we play with two strikers, it is fantastic to have a link-up player like him. He is a great way out for our game, says Kjeldsen.

Isak: “A fantastic place to be”

For Isak himself, it was a completely natural decision to continue in Lyngby.

“I’m very happy that the agreement is now in place. I’m incredibly happy with both the support staff, the players and everyone else at the club. We have a fantastic squad right now, so this is a really good place to be – both personally and professionally,” says the Icelander.

With promotion within reach, the ambitions are clear.

“Our overriding goal of promotion to the Superliga is within reach. But both the club’s and my own ambitions are for us to become a permanent part of the Superliga. I am very much looking forward to continuing to be a part of that journey – and of course contributing with many goals.

Isak also highlights the support from the stands as an important part of the experience in Lyngby.

“The club’s fans are fantastic. They cheer us on in every game – even in periods where things haven’t always gone our way. I’m really looking forward to having them behind me for the next three years.

Isak Þorvaldsson has played 25 games for Lyngby Boldklub and scored 7 goals.
