-The reality is that for a short period of time there are talks with the KNVB (Dutch Football Association), but within a week after the first interview, I made it clear to the KNVB that I saw my immediate future in club football. At this stage of my career, I prefer to see the training schedule every day with my players, which is simply not possible in the same way on a national team. That was and is the only reason why I chose not to continue the conversation and not start negotiations about what a possible contract should look like,” Slot concludes.
