Tottenham Hotspur have taken a new, surprising move to bring Harry Kane back from Bayern Munich – a deal that would have huge implications for the club’s ambitions in the 2025/26 season.
Tottenham finished in 17th place and avoided relegation on the last day of last season. Still, there is renewed hope under Roberto De Zerbi, with a successful summer transfer window behind him.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke bring much-needed quality and Premier League experience. In addition, Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven have signed new long-term contracts.
The midfield has been strengthened with double signings Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali for £185m – who are now competing with Rodrigo Bentancur, Conor Gallagher and Archie Gray for two starting spots.
Now the Italian has turned his attention to the attack. Savinho and Cody Gakpo are the preferred targets, according to GMS sources – but a striker could also appear.
Kane rumours flare up again
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have made a new request to bring Kane back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The door is being held open to bring the 33-year-old back to the club.
All summer it has been said that the England captain wants to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. But until that is confirmed, there is no doubt that other clubs will consider whether they can persuade him.

The report says that both Spurs and Barcelona have made requests – although Bayern are accelerating negotiations behind the scenes to keep him through 2027, when his contract expires.
While a return to Spurs will always appeal to Kane – and Tottenham want to explore that now with De Zerbi at the helm – he is not yet ready for it.
Kane would lift Spurs into title race
Tottenham’s summer so far has been impressive and caused a stir among their rivals.
With no European football this season, Spurs have only 38 league, cup and league cup games to deal with – an advantage that benefited Manchester United last season, when they finished third.

If Tottenham also bring in Gakpo, Savinho – and Kane – they will throw themselves into the race for the Premier League title. Just months after they narrowly avoided relegation.
Arsenal will again be favourites, while Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea will try to improve. But a Spurs team led by Kane – described as “the best striker in the world” by former Premier League profile Nigel Reo-Coker – will be a force to be reckoned with.
Kane is a Tottenham hero and a goal machine – with 61 club goals last season. One cannot underestimate the impact a return to North London would have on revitalising the entire club.
Spurs have clearly tried to make it happen. Now they will have to wait and see if the contract negotiations with Bayern fall through – so they can strike with the ultimate match-deciding addition.
