The Gunners greatly strengthened their squad last summer, but many believe they still need more attacking weapons.

Arsenal are on track to win two trophies this season – the Champions League and the Premier League – but nothing is decided yet.

If the north London club fall to the finish line again, we could see a massive rebuild of the team as they finally try to secure the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal open Güler talks

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal have already opened talks with the representatives of Real Madrid’s attacking midfield star Arda Güler ahead of the summer transfer window.

They write:

“Arsenal have been in contact with people close to Arda Güler to investigate the possibility of a transfer this summer. Right now, he is not giving the green light. The club has reconsidered the deal, but the answer still seems to be the same – he is happy where he is, and there is no indication that Real Madrid are willing to sell.

Wants to exploit uncertainty in Madrid

Arsenal want to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the future of Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

The club has contacted to find out if Güler would like a transfer in the summer – but so far they have not been given the go-ahead.

It seems unlikely that Real Madrid will let go of the star talent, but Arsenal could be ready to make a bold move.

Ready to pay £87 million

Arsenal were willing to pay a whopping £87 million to sign Güler in the January window.

Sources claim that his future could lie outside of Madrid when the summer arrives, and that he could become one of the hottest names in the transfer market.

With Martin Ødegaard and Eberechi Eze both struggling creatively this season, adding more firepower to the attacking midfield could be a very smart move.

Xabi Alonso: “He wants to win the Ballon d’Or”

It would be an impressive signing if Arsenal get it right. Former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has predicted that Arda Güler will one day “win the Ballon d’Or”.
