Leeds supporters have stopped talking about relegation for the first time this season. Daniel Farke has picked up the pace of Leeds’ game, and back is the sparkling energy and will to win that Leeds have become known for since the days of Marcelo Bielsa. After the weekend’s win over Wolverhampton, it is West Ham and Tottenham who balance on – and are kept below – the relegation line, not Leeds. On Wednesday, Leeds picked up points again, this time against the Premier League’s most in-form club.
Bournemouth have been wreaking havoc with their Premier League rivals, without defeat since the beginning of January. Now, in coach Andoni Iraola’s final season, the club is actually fighting for a Europa League ticket. In Wednesday’s game, Leeds would continue their climb up from the relegation zone, while this match would be a run-up to Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final.

Junior Kroupi made it 1-0 to Bournemouth after an hour of play, but Leeds quickly came back through an own goal from James Hill. Substitute Rayan sent Bournemouth into the lead just before full-time, when he beautifully directed a fierce cross from the right into the goal. Bournemouth were on their way to three points and one hand on their Europa League ticket, but in the 97th minute the Leeds players silenced the home supporters. Sean Longstaff equalized to 2-2 after a cash shot, directly from a throw-in.
This gave Leeds one point against an opponent few others in the Premier League have done the same against since January. Nine points above the relegation zone, Leeds are definitely ready for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-finals.
