The 33-year-old striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen says in his welcome interview on Lillestrøm’s pages he has always had a dream of returning despite the fact that he fought fiercely with Molde to get an extension with a long deal. – But that’s football.

Fredrik Gulbrandsen returns to Lillestrøm after his contract with Molde expired.

Gulbrandsen was brought up to Lillestrøm’s first team in 2009. Apart from a short loan spell at Lyn in 2010, the striker was faithful to Lillestrøm until Molde picked him up in 2013. In total, he is registered with 63 games and nine goals for LSK.

Earlier in June, Molde confirmed that Gulbrandsen was done with the club. Sports director Ole Jakob Strandhagen justified it as follows:

“Fredrik has been open and honest about wanting a longer player contract to get greater predictability. We have full respect and understanding for this, and we have agreed that he will now be released.


Cup hero with gold in Molde

Gulbrandsen has won two league golds and two cup golds in his two spells in Molde. In both cup finals he won with the club, he scored – most recently in 2023 against Bodø/Glimt, where he was the match-winner.

The striker has four goals in twelve games in the Eliteserien this season. Previously, he has also played in Austria, Turkey and the United States.

Now he returns home to Lillestrøm – where his career once started. A solid signing for the Roman club.
