From the initial rumours that Liverpool were going to sign Barcelona’s centre-back giant Daniel Araujo, to the Uruguayan international smiling out at Anfield to confirm the transfer, only a few days passed. Two months+ into the season, there is little doubt Liverpool fans love the tough defender, nor is there any doubt that the 27-year-old could consider continuing to wear the red shirt next season as well.
Liverpool could sign Araujo for around £47 million by triggering a clause in his deal with Barcelona. Before the Champions League match against Villareal, he was asked how he is settling in at Liverpool. Then came the wide smile from the 27-year-old.

“It surprised me because you know how big Liverpool is, but when you come here, you see the dimensions of this club,” Araujo begins, according to Rousingthecop.
-The structure, the fans, you know it’s a gigantic team, so I’m very happy because since I arrived I’ve been welcomed as just a player. Not only by the people at the club, but by the fans, so I’m very grateful for them, and I want to give back to them in training and in games, says the centre-back.
Who thinks it’s too early to talk about what happens after the end of the season, but for those who have followed Araujo through the last, tough seasons at Barcelona, there is little doubt that the smile is back and that he is being very well taken care of at Liverpool.

“I think people here almost get more intense when you walk down the street, to Liverpool city centre or to eat something, but it’s wonderful. You see how they experience football themselves, and I’ll tell you that I’m very happy here, my family is also very happy, and that’s important,” Araujo said.
