We can boast that both Caroline Graham Hansen and Ingrid Engen wear/have worn the Barcelona shirt on the FC Barcelona Femení team, but the La Liga giant has so far on the men’s side not signed a single Norwegian player ever. It is therefore fantastic to hear that not just one, but two Norwegian national team players are linked to one of the world’s biggest clubs.
There is little doubt Barcelona have wanted Erling Haaland, in the race for the club presidency they were even working for a “quick solution” with Haaland’s thumbs up to Barca transfer before the presidential election last month. Of course, the thumbs up did not come. So far, it seems like pure wishful thinking that the world’s best striker chooses the Catalan club.

But there are several Norwegian players who make a strong mark in the biggest arenas. One is Alexander Sørloth, the other Andreas Schelderup, both now linked to Barcelona.
Alexander Sørloth is the player who has scored 7 goals in 14 games against Barcelona, the last of which came at Camp Nou in the first quarter-final of the Champions League. After the game, Barca supporters could hear a player who thrives in the city and the pressure in the iconic stadium.
Sørloth’s player profile, “technical similarity” to Lewandowski and his ability to immediately adapt to Hansi Flick’s system, have sent Sørloth onto the candidate list of Barcelona’s sporting director Deco. Spanish Marca is shocked that there is now a real possibility that Barcelona will hijack one of the players responsible for their elimination from the Champions League, Alexander Sørloth.
According to journalist Matteo Morettos at La Pizarra de Quintana, the Catalan club have sent a formal request if Alexander Sorloth, Deco and the gang want to secure themselves if it does not end with a Lewandowski extension.
Now to Schelderup.
According to the Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Bardelona is very interested in the Norwegian winger who hammered in two goals against Real Madrid in the Champions League and has been one of Benfica’s best attacking players in 2026. Sporting director Deco is said to have personally been given the overall responsibility for following Schjelderup’s development closely. Barca scouts have reportedly followed Schelderup closely this season, and it is likely that the La Liga giant will make a bid for the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window, claims the Spanish newspaper.
