In 2020, young Alexander Nübel was convinced by the Bayern Munich management to choose the club, even with Manuel Neuer as the undisputed first goalkeeper, who decides for himself which games he will not play. Nübel was told he was destined for the role of crown prince, who would take on the big goalkeeper role as soon as Neuer finished his career. Six years later, Nübel has a contract until 2029, the 40-year-old Neuer is still very active – and the Bayern Munich management is pushing for Nübel’s exit.

The now 29-year-old goalkeeper has been on loan to Monaco and Stuttgart. He has spent the last three years with the latter, but has been sent back from Stuttgart this summer. At Bayern Munich, the door is also closed.

Vincent Kompany already has Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich, and therefore there is no room for Nübel. According to German Sky Sports , sporting director Max Eberl has informed Nübel that he will not be attending Bayern Munich’s start on July 20.

The Bayern management hopes to have a sale in place before then.

This is where Besiktas comes into the picture. The Turkish big club would be very interested in Nübel, who is currently in the World Cup with Germany. Of course, this requires that the two clubs agree, while Nübel must also agree to move to Turkey. At the same time, it is reported that Besiktas is in a time crunch. They will have a goalkeeper in place before the Europa League match against FC Midtjylland in July.

Nübel’s camp has given a brief comment to the German media.

“We want to make the right decision about Alexander’s future. We can confirm that Besiktas are determined to sign him.

Bayern Munich’s former crown prince will have to make the choice whether he is ready to leave the five biggest leagues, not exactly what he envisioned six years ago.
