The Champions League’s biggest surprise last season, Bodø/Glimt, will have to make their way through qualification for tickets in the autumn, on Monday UEFA reports that the opponent has been drawn.
It will not be an easy opponent, but we have followed Bodø/Glimt over one obstacle, after another in recent years in the Conference League, Europa League and most recently the Champions League, where no opponent is too easy or too tough.

Bodø/Glimt will face Union Saint-Gilloise in the qualifiers, the club that won the regular season in Belgium’s Pro League last season, but did not quite make it to Club Brugge in the playoffs for the league championship.
Bodø/Glimt will start their first match away from home.

If the elite league club walks away with the win after two games, another double header awaits before the door to the Champions League group stage opens again. If there is a loss for Glimt, it will be a trip down to the group stage of the Europa League.

“Previously, Bodø/Glimt have played qualification for the Champions League as the reigning league champion in the so-called “champions path”. As a league champion, you only meet other league champions.”
“This year, Glimt is the league runners-up in Norway, and thus does not meet any other league champions in the qualifiers. The teams that are in the league path and are eliminated in Q3 in UCL do not have to play a play-off to the Europa League, and are directly qualified for the Europa League.”
“In other words, Glimt will avoid one qualifying round if the all-yellows should lose the Q3 round in the Champions League.”
