Liverpool have gained momentum under Andoni Iraola, but there is a significant potential challenge in midfield. Liverpool opted not to sign a direct replacement for Curtis Jones over the summer, opting instead to promote Trey Nyoni. Over the past few weeks, Ryan Gravenberch has served a one-match suspension, and Dominik Szoboszlai has twice suffered minor hamstring injuries. For Liverpool, who have a packed fixture schedule in four competitions, relying on just four options with Alexis Mac Allister is a weakness (Wataru Endo and James McConnell are not up to the standard Andoni Iraola needs as options five and six).

Because according to Chelsea reporter Simon Phillips, the Blues now have a verbal agreement with Alex Scott, with Chelsea now working to secure a deal with Bournemouth even before the winter transfer window opens.
If this is true, the fact that the 23-year-old has decided on Stamford Bridge, Liverpool will have to continue working towards Plan B. For Chelsea, a real win in the transfer market.
