Joao Pedro was signed from Brighton for around £55 million on July 2. A few days later, the Brazilian took part in the Club World Cup, scoring in both the semi-finals and final for Chelsea’s title. This summer, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the Brazilian striker, but now all doubts are removed about what shirt the 24-year-old will wear this season.

Last season, Pedro was behind 20 goals and 9 assists as Chelsea’s top scorer, now there will be peace of mind to build on this success under Xabi Alonso.

This season, Pedro will start with shirt number 9 and is the striker Alonso is investing heavily in.
