Chelsea will probably not have the opportunity to bring Abde Ezzalzouli to Stamford Bridge. According to a report, the Real Betis winger would rather go to Newcastle United, as Anthony Gordon’s imminent departure approaches.

Gordon is leaving Newcastle and getting ready for Barcelona in a deal worth £69 million. Is one of the best left wingers in the Premier League, and Newcastle need a replacement.

Newcastle believe Abde Ezzalzouli will fit perfectly into manager Eddie Howe’s plan for next season.

Like Gordon, Ezzalzouli is a left winger and he had a brilliant season this year. The Moroccan international scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions for Betis this season.

Chelsea have also shown interest in Ezzalzouli.

Chelsea owners BlueCo have “shown interest in Ezzalzouli”, as have Manchester City’s owners, City Football Group.

Everton and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the former Barcelona winger, who has a €60 million buyout clause in his contract with Betis.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Newcastle believe that they will be able to sign the winger as a “dream replacement for Anthony Gordon”.

Newcastle, who had a disappointing 2025/26 season under manager Eddie Howe, have been “doing extensive work on Ezzalzouli for months”.

The Magpies have now “accelerated” their pursuit of the Betis star, as Gordon is now leaving St. James’ Park.

The report adds: “TEAMtalk can reveal that Ezzalzouli’s camp is fully open to the possibility of a move to St. James’ Park, as the winger is attracted to Newcast’s long-term project and the opportunity to play in the Premier League.”
