The day before the transfer window closes, there is hectic activity in the back room at Manchester United. Joshua Zirkzee ends up at either Fiorentina or Juventus, a real Premier League striker has to face the Dutchman in the revolving door at Old Trafford. For English Givemesport , Alexander Sørloth is optimal as a Deadline Day signing for Manchester United.

Caughtoffside reported at the weekend that Alexander Sorloth was “offered” Manchester United, an option Carrick and the gang are keeping open and following the final day of the transfer window.

Givemesport is out on Monday and gives two thumbs up for United choosing our national team striker. Here is the English media’s analysis under the headline “Sorloth Would be Inspired United Signing“:

“Manchester United are planning a last-minute move for Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth, after the club made an important transfer decision. At this stage of the window, United will not be able to bring in a high-profile striker, but Sørloth could still be a good option for them.”

“The Norwegian centre-forward flopped after joining Crystal Palace during the 2018-19 season, but he is 30 years old and far more experienced now.”

“In fact, the striker has been in sensational assist form in La Liga for the previous three seasons, shining for Villarreal and Atletico. At 195cm tall, he has the physical attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and he would be the perfect backup option for Benjamin Sesko, with a similar profile. United and Michael Carrick are looking for a centre-forward who won’t necessarily start every game, and Sorloth once again fits in, given where he is in his career.

“Still, he would be a strong option either from the substitutes’ bench, or from the start of certain Premier League games when Sesko faces a three-game week.”

We agree with Givemesport, but think Sørloth will probably take up more space than a game every now and then when Sesko is the official first striker.

Go for it!
