A number of major media outlets, including Radiosporten, report that Manchester United are following up on contact from the people around Alexander Sørloth and are considering loan offers at the last minute.
Manchester United have not ruled out a transfer after being offered the player and that talks are ongoing at high speed.

It could be a hectic end to the transfer window for Manchester United – after it was reported that the club “have not ruled out a purchase” of a striker following inquiries from intermediaries.
So far, Manchester United have spent around £150 million on reinforcements.
Andrey Santos was signed from Chelsea for around £50 million, Youri Tielemans arrived from Aston Villa for £35 million, and Carlos Baleba arrived at Brighton this month for £65 million plus 5 million in bonuses.
Thus, United are well covered in midfield. A left-back who can challenge Luke Shaw – who is entering the final year of his contract – is seen by many as a priority after his shaky start to the season.
Zirkzee may disappear
Joshua Zirkzee is also heavily linked with a late sale, with Juventus and Fiorentina reportedly interested.
This is a scenario that could force United to bring in a new attacking player. Michael Carrick’s side played without a pure striker in the games against Hull City and Ipswich Town.
But that could change when they face Everton on Sunday. Benjamin Sesko is approaching full match fitness after missing the last three Premier League games last season due to injury.
In addition, United have “not ruled out a purchase” of Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth – who has been offered to the club via intermediaries.
Sørloth could leave Atletico this summer
The 30-year-old Sorloth is available for around £30 million, according to a report from Caught Offside – which claims that United have yet to make a final decision on the former Crystal Palace player.
“There is a feeling that they do not rule out bringing in another striker late in the summer,” the report writes.
United have not ruled out a purchase of Sørloth.
“Other clubs may also be in the picture, so United need to decide quickly,” the report continues.
“As things stand, I’m not sure they will pay the £30 million price – but they can try to negotiate a loan.”
From flopping at Palace to goal guarantee
The experienced striker spent two years at Crystal Palace between 2018 and 2020 – but only scored once in 20 games. He was also loaned out to Gent and Trabzonspor during his stay at Selhurst Park.
Since failing at Palace, Sorloth has had productive spells at Real Sociedad, Villarreal and current club Atletico Madrid – for whom he has netted 44 times in 107 appearances.
The Norwegian is often used as a nine, but also made a strong impression on the right wing during this year’s World Cup.
United ‘turn’ to another Aston Villa player
As mentioned above, signing a left-back who can challenge Shaw is on the cards.
Top candidate Lewis Hall looks unlikely to leave Newcastle this summer, while Alejandro Balde wants to stay at Barcelona – after United contacted his representatives to investigate whether a deal was possible.
Last week, it was reported that United have sent a surprise enquiry to Aston Villa’s Ian Maatsen, according to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke – who claims that the move is part of the search for a new left-back.
