Christian Nørgaard is not the type to complain. The former Brentford captain timed his move to Arsenal last summer, where he got to be part of the journey to the historic Premier League trophy and Champions League final. For the 32-year-old, however, there was no personal, sporting upturn. From being a given in Brentford’s starting eleven, Arsenal played a minimal 101 minutes in the Premier League, but this week came the move to Everton, where the supporters are told by the Arsenal manager that they have been given a real boost.
“He played a huge role for us. When I brought him here, I said he could be our glue – someone with an incredible ability to bring people together and keep the standard high,” Mikel Arteta begins to Arsenal’s website.

“When he played, he also had some really good periods, but I understand that it’s not easy to fill that role over a long period of time. He has been given a fantastic opportunity and we wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts,” Arteta continued.
“I am very grateful for what he has contributed to the club and for the way he has helped us win. Behind the scenes, we haven’t seen everything he’s done, but he’s a player with a unique ability to make his teammates better and to help maintain a culture of the highest standard,” the Arsenal coach boasted.
