Frank Lampard’s Coventry City are one of three Premier League clubs that have shown interest in signing Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
Mudryk has joined Chelsea’s training tour after resolving the doping case with the English Football Association. The Ukrainian international has not been allowed to play since November 2024, when he was temporarily suspended after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium.

The FA ended its anti-doping processes after Mudryk accepted the violation of the rules and agreed to a suspension equal to the time he had already served – one year and eight months.
New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said he was “very happy” to welcome Mudryk back into the squad, but that it was “too early” to determine his level of performance.
Loan could give Mudryk a new start
A loan swap looks set to give Mudryk the opportunity to get regular game time and get back to the form that earned him the £62 million move to Stamford Bridge – a total of £89 million with bonuses, but several performance-related add-ons have never been triggered.
Several Premier League clubs and European teams have expressed interest in signing Mudryk on loan. Lampard hopes to strike a deal with his former club as he prepares for Coventry’s return to the top flight.
Two other unnamed Premier League clubs have shown interest, according to The Sun, while three European teams are also keen to sign the Ukrainian on loan.

Mudryk: “Grateful to be back”
Reacting to his impending comeback, Mudryk said he was “grateful” to be able to return to the game after “the most difficult period” of his career:
Chelsea said the club was “pleased that the case has now reached a conclusion that will allow him to return to football with immediate effect.”
Alonso: “Too early to say anything about his form”
Discussing the plans for Mudryk, Alonso said:
It remains to be seen whether Mudryk will play in any of Chelsea’s upcoming friendlies against Juventus or AC Milan. Lampard’s Coventry mark their Premier League return against champions Arsenal on August 21.
