First a somewhat anonymous existence in the Eredivisie at Ajax, then a move to the Premier League and Brentford last summer. Now the 36-year-old is taking the step back into what will be the upper part of the Premier League.
It has been reported in recent weeks, on Monday the confirmation came. Xabi Alonso has booked Henderson for Stamford Bridge, now the transfer is ready.

Jordan Henderson has signed a two-year contract, according to Sky Sports , on a free transfer. Henderson made a mutual agreement with Brentford to end his contract early, thus activating a gentleman’s agreement that allowed him to go without payment if a great opportunity arose.
“Considering the size of the club, the manager, who I have a lot of admiration for, and the quality of the players, this was a huge opportunity that I couldn’t turn down,” Henderson told the club’s website.
“I was also so impressed by how much the ownership wants Chelsea to succeed and move in the right direction. For me, it’s about giving everything every single day, both on and off the pitch, to help the players around me and the team as much as possible. I’m really looking forward to getting started.
