Napoli and Lazio were interested, but it looks like the Liverpool midfielder will play in La Liga this season.
Harvey Elliott has received several offers ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday, but the midfielder has now “agreed personal terms” with Valencia following talks.

The 23-year-old returned to Liverpool in the summer after a frustrating stint at Aston Villa.
On deadline day last summer, Elliott was loaned out to Unai Emery’s side for the rest of the season. The deal included an obligation to buy £35 million if he played ten games in the league.
Still, the former Fulham player struggled to get game time under Emery. In fact, he only played 277 minutes during the 2025/26 season, in just four appearances in the Premier League.
“It’s very difficult to explain the reason for this decision – or it’s simple, but this is not the right time,” Emery said in May. “Of course, it’s embarrassing for everyone involved. The apology of Harvey Elliott is on my mind every day.”
Elliott has been in action for Liverpool in pre-season, and new head coach Andoni Iraola has previously praised the midfielder’s determination to resurrect his career at Anfield.
Still, there are many indications that another loan deal is imminent. Elliott has already spoken to Iraola and asked to go to Valencia, according to Marca journalist Matteo Moretto, who claims that negotiations between the clubs are “very advanced”.
Napoli and Lazio have reportedly shown interest in bringing the player to Italy, but after days of speculation, Fabrizio Romano states that he has agreed personal terms with Valencia after positive talks.
Andoni Iraola admits he “prefers other options” to Harvey Elliott
Before Liverpool’s clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, Iraola gave a brutally honest answer when asked about Elliott’s future at Anfield.
The midfielder was not in the matchday squad alongside Federico Chiesa, who has also been linked with a move this summer.
“In the case of Harvey, [Luke] Chambers and some of the other players I chose to leave out – because I can only take out 20 – it’s all about finding the right balance on the bench,” he said.
“In Harvey’s case, he’s trying hard and he’s getting better every week, but I still prefer other options.
“I probably had doubts between him and James McConnell when it came to selecting the squad and I chose to bring James. But it’s a new week, new opportunities for everyone, and they have to keep that attitude.”
