Wolverhampton, with Jørgen Strand Larsen at the top, were never close to securing survival in the Premier League. Strand Larsen left the club in a record transfer to Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton left the Premier League after the end of the season. Coach Rob Edwards was brought in in November, unable to save the club, but was still seen as the coach who lifts the Wolves back to the top division. This has changed this week.

According to The Telegraph , Rob Edwards will not be in charge of Wolves next season, as the English manager has received a letter of resignation from Wolverhampton’s management.

Edwards is under contract with the club until the summer of 2029 and is said to have played a major role in luring Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez to the club. Wolves paid four million pounds to buy Rob Edwards free from Middlesbrough, but are now being weighed too lightly in the job of leading the club back to the Premier League.

According to the English newspaper, Wolves management has decided to sign Portuguese Cesar Peixoto, coach of Gil Vicente last season, where he led the club to sixth place in the Portuguese league.
