Real Madrid’s transfer market continues to heat up for the coming year, as they are already preparing to bring in a new centre-back in the summer of 2027. Rúben Dias from Manchester City and Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan are among the names the White club have been investigating. They will also have to decide on the future of Antonio Rüdiger, whose contract expires on June 30, 2027.
According to reports attributed to Fabrizio Romano, the sporting management has plans to include at least one centre-back next summer – despite the fact that they have already brought in Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer. The planning also includes strengthening the midfield, a position that worries José Mourinho.
Real Madrid reconsider Rúben Dias and Alessandro Bastoni
Defence will be a priority in the next summer transfer window. Real Madrid were already considering the options to sign Rúben Dias and Alessandro Bastoni in the summer of 2026, but ultimately opted to complete the arrival of Konaté.
The 27-year-old Frenchman ended his contract with Liverpool and signed until June 2030 – a deal that allowed them to strengthen their squad without paying a transfer fee. His arrival caused the club to postpone their search for a new centre-back in order to focus their resources on other positions.
However, interest in the two defenders seems to persist. Rúben Dias, 29 years old, brings experience after several seasons at Manchester City, while Alessandro Bastoni, 27 years old, provides a left-footed profile for ball distribution.
Barely two years later, Everton is again for sale!
