The 30-year-old’s last game was in the World Cup quarter-finals against England. At the beginning of August, Sørloth picked up a muscle injury that has taken longer than previously estimated at Atletico Madrid. Regardless, the last week Sørloth has been back on the training ground, now Diego Simeone confirms that Sørloth is ready for Saturday’s away game against Alaves.

“They (Sørloth and Barrios) have worked very well and will be able to play in the match. Hopefully, in the time they get, they can give us the best they have,” Simeone said, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Simeone does not hold back on the important role Sørloth has for his entire team.

“Each of them gives us different opportunities in the game. Especially Sørloth gives us balance in a part of the game that the team doesn’t have,” says the Atlético coach.
