The Spanish ball artist played last season for Melbourne Victory, on Monday the former Manchester United star made an announcement.

Juan Mata becomes club owner in Australia
The Australian club reports Mata has entered into a deal, which means that he will be part of the ownership circle of the club. The agreement will only come into effect when Mata hangs up his shoes, and he does not know when it will be.
“I sincerely believe in a strong future for Australian football. Since I came to Melbourne Victory, I have felt the passion that characterizes the club, and the great potential of the A-League. I want to be with you to build on that, it will be – not just for one season, but for the long term. I have enjoyed the last season on the track immensely, and therefore it is a natural next step for me to get involved in Victory as a co-owner, says Mata.

So far, the 38-year-old has 25 games with 5 goals for Melbourne Victory, but Mata is still pushing to move into the club owner’s ranks. He has more to accomplish on the football field.
