Despite a few slacker weeks in the time leading up to the World Cup break, Tromsø is also this Eliteserie season a club to be reckoned with in the medal match. – A problem that this summer’s transfer market will solve is the defense, 5 – 0 losses for both Bodø/Glimt and Brann this spring shows that there is a need to close the back.

Casper Øyvann is back in Tromsø for the first time since 2023. The 26-year-old returns home after a few years in Molde – and the joy is great for both the club and the player himself.

Øyvann, which is originally a Bodø/Glimt product, ended up in Tromsø in 2021 after impressing greatly in Tromsdalen. In 2023, he moved on to Molde, but now the centre-back is back where it all took off.

This is confirmed by TIL on their website on Sunday.

“Casper comes home again and knows us very well. He has an incredibly high top level and is a player who can help lift us further, says sports director Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen.

The player himself is very happy with his return to his old club.

“It’s great fun to be back in Tromsø. The club has meant a lot to my career, so it’s fantastic to be here. I’m looking forward to meeting the gang and playing in front of the fans here again,” says Øyvann.

The centre-back will be an immediate replacement for 19-year-old Gambian talent Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who was recently sold to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia for a record sum. Jens Husebø has also recently left Tromsø in favor of Start. Now Øyvann is ready to fill the void.
