Today’s news is that a big and important step for Germany to introduce himself as a great power, Jürgen Klopp has signed an agreement in principle despite the fact that several football tycoons like that he smiles and has a very motivating and inclusive leadership style.
Jürgen Klopp has made a deal in principle to become Germany’s new national team manager – and thus he makes a surprising comeback from manager retirement. – Managing a national team is not as stressful as managing a club team and more active than wandering around in retirement.
The German Football Association (DFB) confirms that Klopp is “ready to take over” after Julian Nagelsmann resigned in the wake of Germany’s weak World Cup performance. Mannschaft were eliminated in the round of 32 after a penalty shootout loss to Paraguay – another early exit for a nation that was once the undisputed greatness of the world.
Germany have not won a single World Cup playoff game since they won the gold in 2014. The previous two World Cups ended in the group stage. Now the DFB hopes that Klopp can turn the ship around.

Since leaving Liverpool after the 2023/24 season, Klopp has kept a low profile as a manager. He turned down several offers, opting instead for the role of global head of football at the Red Bull Group – a position he has held since October 2024.
But now he seems to be breaking the manager’s pension. For real.
Klopp is currently in North America, where he works as a TV commentator during the World Cup.
On Saturday, it became known that he has had in-depth talks with DFB leaders Bernd Neuendorf and Hans-Joachim Watzke in New York – and that the parties have agreed on the main features of a potential contract.
DFB confirms: “Constructive talks”

– President Bernd Neuendorf and Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke held their first in-depth talks with Jürgen Klopp in New York about a possible appointment as national team coach. During the constructive exchange, agreement was reached on the main points of a potential contract. The talks will continue next week.
“Both parties are confident that the negotiations – subject to an agreement with Klopp’s current employer, Red Bull – can ultimately be successfully concluded.
