In July 2023, Leeds brought in Daniel Farke. The club had been diving since the peak with Marcelo Bielsa (before he was sacked), now it was time to create stability. The first task for the German was to get the club back to the Premier League. It went in the second attempt, then came the move to the world’s toughest league, and many were unsure if Farke had what it took to succeed at the top level. After a tough half of the season, Leeds woke up, now comes the reward for Farke.
Whites have improved year after year under the German’s regime, having finished third in the Championship in his first season in charge, before a 100-point season earned them the Second Division title the following year. Last season, Leeds secured 14th place when they returned to the Premier League, and after an impressive summer of reinforcements, the club have made a solid start to the new season and have the opportunity to move up to third place if they can secure a win over Newcastle United at Elland Road on Monday night.

Entering the fourth and final year of his contract at Leeds, the club have made it clear that they want to commit Farke to a new contract.
TEAMtalk reported in June that the club’s owners, 49ers Enterprises, had been in talks with the 49-year-old for several weeks to secure his future.

Last week, the media reported that they are now working on the “final details” of the extension, which appear to give the manager a significant wage increase over his current deal of £4 million a year. Now it’s just a matter of when, not if an announcement will be made.
Daniel Farke has shown the Leeds supporters that he is the coach of the good times, now there will be peace of mind with a new contract.
