Tough in the match arena, but still a gentleman of football. Thiago Silva has passed 41, but showed this season that he still has the pace to play for titles.
Thiago Silva is a real legend in Europe. The Brazilian has been instrumental in Serie A, Ligue 1, Premier League and Champions League. 119 games for AC Milan, 315 games for PSG and 155 games for Chelsea. In addition, the centre-back has 185 appearances for Brazilian side Flumiense, the last in 2025.

A smiling Thiago Silva looks like a nice boy, his mother-in-law likes to invite home for dinner. Out on the pitch, the Brazilian is fair, but tough. The opponents of AC Milan, PSG, Chelsea and the Brazilian national team have had a taste of this. When Silva left Chelsea in 2024, many thought the veteran would pat himself on the back and retire. Not Silva, no. In December 2025, the Brazilian returned to Europe on a short-term contract with Porto.
Here, there have been a total of 14 games for the super veteran, in a season where Porto went out as league champions, six points ahead of Sporting, eight ahead of Benfica.
There was an option for an extension in the contract, but now Porto reports that the parties are going their separate ways this summer. The 41-year-old Thiago Silva’s presence on the training ground, in the dressing room and in the match arena has given Porto the boost to a successful season.
