Manchester United are, as usual, linked with two handfuls of star players as the transfer window approaches. In the case of Rafael Leao, the link with the gang at Old Trafford has been particularly strong in recent months. From Italy, it is reported that the Premier League club received the offer – and declined.

Leao has not scored since March 1, and has made headlines because of something completely different than contributions to AC Milan’s fight for the Serie A title this season. Negative body language and disagreements with both teammates and coaches, especially after a game against Lazio, Leao didn’t like being replaced by coach Massimilliano Allegri.

According to Italian TV channel SportItalia, Milan offered their star winger to Manchester United (and several other clubs) with a transfer this summer, but the Red Devils reportedly declined.

The Italian media claims that the United management was actually not particularly interested in discussing, or considering signing. In other words: Rafael Leao will not end up at Old Trafford.

Manchester United has a history of plenty of challenges with “problem players” getting into conflict with the coach sounds like the right decision.
