After a summer marked by speculation about a move away from St James’ Park – where Manchester United were heavily linked with the 22-year-old – Hall has tied his future to the Magpies.
The left-back has signed a lucrative new deal that extends all the way to 2031. That means two extra years on the contract he already had in the northeast.
“A proud moment”
In an interview with the club’s official website, Hall does not hide his joy:
“I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s a very proud moment. It’s a real pleasure to play for this club and represent the supporters. I know how much it means to them.
“The fan base and support we get, whether it’s at St James’ Park or away, is in my opinion the best in the league. To be able to bring joy to their faces means a huge amount to me.
“I obviously have a family connection to the club, which is incredibly important for all of us. One of the main reasons I play is to make my family proud and I know how much it means to them to see me play for Newcastle United.
“It’s a very good place to be. It’s very satisfying to see how we’ve started the season, especially with the new manager and coaching staff coming in. I think we can move on and achieve really big things.
Why Hall chose to stay
There is no buyout clause in the new contract. This means that all interested parties will have to negotiate with Newcastle next summer – who will then be far better equipped to demand the highest possible price, if they want to sell at all.
GIVEMESPORT understands that Hall has been impressed with new boss Matthias Jaissle, after a period of uncertainty at the club when Eddie Howe left.
Furthermore, GMS understands that during the summer transfer window, there were periods when Hall was somewhat open to a move to Old Trafford. But the key to the decision to stay at St James’ Park was precisely Jaissle – and the path the new boss has laid out for the full-back, as well as the trust he has shown him.
When the transfer window closed, it was always likely that Hall would sign new terms. The details of the deal have been in place since February.

Newcastle’s sporting director Ross Wilson is very pleased:
“He is already a top player and it is really something to be proud of that his performances in the Newcastle shirt have earned him international recognition with England. We are convinced that there is even more to come – both for us and on the international stage.
