Mo Salah was out in the freezer at Liverpool before Christmas. Harsh criticism of Arne Slot sent Salah not only back to the bench, but out of the matchday squad. Then things worked out between the two, but Salah shows that confidence in the Dutchman as a long-term Liverpool manager is at an all-time low.
“I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that the opponents fear, and back to being a team that wins trophies”. These were parts of the “farewell gift” on social media from Salah to Slot, with still one game left in the season. In other words, this season’s Liverpool team under Arne Slot is pulling in the wrong direction.

Arne Slot probably struggles not to be booed by his own supporters, when Salah also indirectly says Slot football is not a long-term solution for the club he loves, the impression is reinforced that the Liverpool management is on the wrong course.
Even Steven Gerrard reacts.
“Mo Salah doesn’t speak out much, he doesn’t tweet that much, and he certainly doesn’t tweet like that,” Gerrard told TNT Sport.
“So I think he will send a signal to the outside world that things in Liverpool’s dressing room are not as they should be. That identity has disappeared, and it really hurts him to see it with his own eyes,” Gerrard continues.

“I’m surprised by the timing – one game left, his last game for Liverpool. He rarely speaks out, but he has lately because his incredible Liverpool career is coming to an end, but it’s a pretty harsh criticism of the Liverpool manager and staff in relation to where the team is at the moment.”
