It was a tearful Mo Salah who left Anfield one last time as a Liverpool player. The Egyptian superstar leaves behind a crater that needs to be filled. Several candidates have been linked to Liverpool in recent months, but now it is pointed towards the one, chosen one.
It is, of course, about Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old has a twitch, technique, speed, strength and finishing that defenders in the Bundesliga have really struggled to stop. You wouldn’t think this was the debut season of the former Leganes player, where he has made his immediate breakthrough with 13 goals and 8 assists.

Earlier this month, Diomande responded to questions about his situation at RB Leipzig: “If you imagine that someone says that you have to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, of course you will be happy and motivated to do more, but I don’t think about this kind of thing because I try to be focused on the pitch. Because my job is to play football, I leave everything else off the pitch. It gives me a lot of motivation to see clubs talking about me. I’m focused. My contract lasts until 2030, so I have four more years. I don’t know what happens after that. I am a Leipzig player,” Diomande stated according to Bulinews.
Not exactly a “come and get me-Liverpool” message, but the 19-year-old also ended with a “In football, anything is possible”.
Now transfer journalist Romano reports Liverpool are in talks with Diomande’s representatives for a deal.
Diomande has previously revealed that it is his dream to move to Anfield, after growing up as a Liverpool supporter. Now comes the opportunity.

The transfer journalist also reports that PSG have sat down with the 19-year-old’s representatives, but when Richard Hughes and Arne Slot prioritize speed and one-on-one quality on the wings – qualities that the 19-year-old is full of – then it will be hard to stop Liverpool from starting the season with Diomande in the squad.
100 million euros in demands from RB Leipzig does not stop Liverpool either.
