Luis Enrique has extended his contract as PSG coach until 2030, and the new deal shoots his salary to around €20 million gross per season. The decision by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi ensures continuity for the 56-year-old coach for three additional seasons beyond the previous deal, which ran until 2027.
The extension was officially announced on September 4, 2026 – just before the Ligue 1 clash against Monaco. Thus, the club put an end to a negotiation process that had been going on for months. The Spaniard is now one of the most contractually entrenched figures in PSG’s sporting apparatus.
From 12 to almost 20 million a year
The biggest change in Luis Enrique’s new contract can be found in the financial conditions. According to figures published in France, the coach earned just over one million gross a month – around 12 million a year. The new deal lands at about 20 million gross per season.
In other words: an increase of around eight million euros a year.
With these sums, the PSG coach joins the exclusive company of the highest-paid coaches in world football – and at the same time significantly increases the financial gap with his competitors in Ligue 1.
13 trophies – and the most winning PSG coach in history
The extension is also a natural consequence of the results since he arrived in Paris in 2023. Under his leadership, the club has won a whopping 13 trophies – making Luis Enrique the most winning coach in PSG history.
The list includes two straight Champions League titles, three Ligue 1 championships and two French cups. In other words: a track record that speaks for itself.
Al-Khelaïfi ensures stability – not just on the coaching bench
The coaching extension was not an isolated operation. At the same time, PSG also announced new deals for Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, Willian Pacho and Fabián Ruiz – as part of a strategy to preserve the core of the structure that has worked closely with the coach for several years.
Al-Khelaïfi has thus placed the manager’s future on the same level as several of the most important players in the squad. Luis Enrique already had a verbal agreement on an extension last season, and when the transfer market in France closed, PSG formalized the operation.
Ready to defend the Champions League title
The sporting context also explains the choice of duration. Since arriving in 2023, the team has won the Champions League in both 2025 and 2026, as well as three French league championships. The previous contract ran until 2027 – the new one adds three seasons.
With the signature now in place, the next challenge awaits: defending the Champions League title, while the club continues to secure the future of its players. Luis Enrique is now committed to 2030, with a salary of around €20 million gross a year – and full backing from Nasser Al-Khelaïfi for the next four seasons.
