Manchester City supporters had their first encounter with a football everyday life without Pep Guardiola. Zero goals and three back-to-back goals against Arsenal in the Community Shield were hard to digest on Sunday. Enzo Marsco will have his time to set the football as City coach, but is still waiting for the latest reinforcements. Now it is reported that the former Chelsea coach is hoping for signings from Chelsea.

According to Teamtalk’s sources, City management have made new contact with Chelsea about Malo Gusto for the opportunity to reunite the French international with Maresca. City first asked about Gusto earlier this summer, and have now come back with a new request for the 23-year-old, who worked with Maresca during the Italian’s time as coach at Stamford Bridge.

According to the English media, Gusto is open to a City transfer, but Chelsea’s valuation remains the biggest obstacle. The Blues are demanding more than £70 million.
City’s renewed approach to Gusto comes alongside their continued contact with Chelsea about Enzo Fernandez, with both players still on City’s top list.

Chelsea set a deadline of 17:00 last Friday for City to complete a deal for Fernandez, but City have been waiting for the Rodri transfer to Barcelona to fall into place. With the Spaniard well on his way to La Liga for up to €76.5 million, City return to Stamford Bridge.
