Work is in high gear in Barcelona these days. The La Liga title is celebrated, the downer is having to watch the Champions League final from a screen and not on the final pitch. In familiar Barcelona style, work is being done in parallel with a bunch of big signings, where the financial creativity is great to make the financial fit into the rules for sustainable and profitable club operations, For Marcus Rashford, it is starting to look like a transfer to his favorite club after the Manchester United exit could slip, a permanent transfer many saw as a done deal.

It is reported from both Spain and England that Barcelona are close to presenting Anthony Gordon as a new player, while Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez are also being linked with Barcelona. Hansi Flick has used Rashford this season both on the left wing and as a striker. Gordon is on the left wing, while Alvarez is used up top.

Barcelona steer clear of permanent Rashford transfer

The big question then is whether Barcelona will actually drop Rashford. The England international delivered solidly, with 14 goals and 14 assists, but according to Sky Sports, there have been reports that Barcelona do not want to activate the buyout clause, but rather rent Rashford for another season.

The 30 million euro clause is valid until June 15, so the conclusion will come shortly. For Rashford, this does not look so bright, nor United. Sky Sports reports the 28-year-old is unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford, while the United management needs to sell Rashford to finance their own player purchases.
