From his first training as United coach, Ruben Amorim introduced his preferred formation. From the first game, the Portuguese stated that he will not withdraw the big changes, this had to be done now so as not to drag problems into next season. With 16 games left in the Premier League season, something needs to be done. Now they are working to meet the deadline on the transfer market and bring in a 20-year-old who was made for Amorim football.

Because the introduction of Amorim’s formation and system has shown several United players are far from being able to practice it. On the left wing, United have a big weakness. The Athletic reports Manchester United are in talks with Serie A club Lecce. United have reportedly followed Danish full-back/winger Patrick Dorgu for the past year, according to the English media, this week it is over from plan to action. Dorgu is flashed as perfect for Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation, or 3-4-3.

The 20-year-old was brought to Lecce from Nordsjælland in 2022. With 5 goals and big games in 52 Serie A games, the Danish international (4 games and 1 goal) has played his way onto the radar of the giants in the Premier League in record time.

The transfer is expected to end at around €40 million, so this is not an intermediate solution for Manchester United. Patrick Dorgu is a new man on the left wing (plays just as naturally on the right side).

Both Chelsea and Liverpool have also been signed to sign the Danish super talent.
