AC Milan have been holding on to their greatest asset for many years. The Portuguese winger was brought in from Lille in 2019, for what ended up with up to €50 million in transfer fees. In 288 games, the 26-year-old stands with a solid 80 goals and 65 assists, now it is reported that the Serie A club has removed the “not for sale” sign. This has got Manchester United on the pitch.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport , United are showing increasing interest in the AC Milan star, who is being considered a great opportunity to bolster the left wing of the United attack. No formal negotiations have reportedly begun between the parties, but according to the Italian newspaper, the United management has explored the possibility of a swap. Three players are mentioned here: Marcus Rashford, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee.
However, Milan are said to be adamant that they prefer pure money to a swap. It is expected that the Serie A club will open up for bids from 50 million euros+, although the buyout clause is a whopping 175 million euros.
