Liam Rosenior probably thought he had time to establish himself in London as Chelsea manager after his transfer from the Premier League club’s sister club Stasbourg. 106 days later, the Chelsea adventure was a closed chapter. The London club sacked Rosenior after six straight Premier League games with defeat.
There was reportedly an expectation that he could be entitled to a significant payout due to his long contract with Chelsea. However, it appears that he will not receive £24 million in compensation after his dismissal. With a contract until 2032, the 41-year-old is facing a secure financial time, but now it is reported that Chelsea management has informed Rosenior that he will not receive full compensation.

According to the BBC , the club have told Rosenior that he will not receive full payment for the remainder of his six-and-a-half-year contract, a deal that is believed to have been worth around £4 million a year. While one would think that the rest of his contract would have been paid off, totalling £24 million, it is understood that the settlement would be significantly lower than this figure.
The total amount of this compensation will not be available until Chelsea’s next financial statements are published next year, when one-off costs for dismissals of managers are usually published on the government’s website, Companies House.

Rosenior leaves Chelsea as a rich man for “not doing the job”, but apparently has to settle for a lower compensation than the salary agreement suggests. We’re guessing Chelsea’s team of lawyers were prepared for this scenario.
