Chelsea supporters finally thought it was their turn in the London derby against Arsenal, when Rogers silenced the Arsenal supporters with a goal after just two minutes. Xabi Alonso has led the club to victories against Fulham and Brighton, with buckets and buckets of goals. Now it was the reigning Premier League champions who would feel the effects of a change of throne. Martin Ødegaard was the difference.
“It was a big game, a huge game against a tough opponent, and we pulled it off in the end – absolutely fantastic,” Ødegaard said according to the BBC after the game. Kai Havertz responded with an equalizer to make it 1-1 after twenty-five minutes, but it was the Norwegian captain who in combination led Arsenal and went in and did the scoring job, that separated the two teams.

Just five minutes after half-time, Ødegaard rushed in to make it 2-1 that decided the game.
The statistics agency OptaJoe shows the difference between last and this season: “In three Premier League games this season (2 goals), Martin Ødegaard has doubled the number of goals in the Premier League in the whole of last season (1 in 24 games).”
